LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – VIP tickets to the 13th annual Patriot All-America Invitational are on sale now and will include exclusive access to the inaugural ‘Patriot Unplugged’ concert featuring Nashville-based country music recording artists Restless Road. Patriot Unplugged will take place in the VIP area next to the 18th green at the Wigwam Golf Club’s Gold Course on Saturday night, December 30th, 2023. VIP tickets to the Patriot All-America Invitational will grant the holder admission to Patriot Unplugged, and are available for purchase by clicking here.

“We are excited to add to the incredible tournament week schedule with the first ever ‘Patriot Unplugged’ featuring Restless Road,” said Mark James of the West Valley Mavericks, serving in his first year as Patriot All-America Tournament Chairman. “Obviously the golf speaks for itself with more than 200 of the nation’s top collegiate male and female golfers paying tribute to our fallen members of the Armed Forces. But add the live experience of a concert with a bigtime country music band and we’ve got something really special to share with the community.”

After signing a record deal with Sony Music Nashville, Restless Road released a four-song, self-titled EP in 2020, followed their debut album, Last Rodeo earlier this year. They have written songs for Rascal Flatts, Granger Smith, David James and Kane Brown. In 2020, Brown invited Restless Road onstage during his sold-out Staples Center concert in Los Angeles to premiere their collaboration, “Take Me Home” – a track inspired by John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” The song later reached as high as No. 7 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart.

Scheduled for December 29-31, 2023, the 13th Annual Patriot All-America is comprised of 84 of the top men’s collegiate players and 66 of the top collegiate women playing at the Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park. The men will play on the Gold Course, with the women on the Blue Course. Simultaneously, the 2nd Annual Thunderbolt will take place at Sterling Grove Golf + Country Club in Surprise, with up to 72 more collegians and top-ranked amateurs competing.

The Patriot All-America Invitational features PING All-Americans from the previous season in NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and NJCAA; as well as 2022 First Team All-America Seniors from the AJGA and other special invitees. The 54-hole amateur event is known as the first of its kind to combine the talents of 150 nationally recognized men and women golfers simultaneously at one tournament.

Conducted in a partnership with the GCAA, WGCA, the West Valley Mavericks, The Patriot All-America LLC and the Arizona Golf Association, The Patriot All-America honors fallen or severely wounded soldiers and first responders in collaboration with the Folds of Honor Foundation. The golfers receive a golf bag provided by PING Corporation at the event’s opening ceremony emblazoned with the name and branch of service of a fallen or injured military member whom they shall represent. Participants also receive a card with the soldier’s story so they can become familiar with that soldier. The golf bags are then sold by the players’ college or university with proceeds donated to Folds of Honor to support the families affected. Thunderbolt players will also represent Folds of Honor soldiers and First Responders with biographies on cards attached to their bags.

Named after the Air Force P-47 Thunderbolt, The Thunderbolt has been added to accommodate those players that met the initial eligibility but did not make it into The Patriot. The Thunderbolt consists of players who are ranked in the top 1000 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), are PING Second, Third and Honorable Mention All-Americans from Divisions II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA, or are AJGA Second Team and Honorable Mention All-Americans. An invitation to The Thunderbolt does not preclude a player from later receiving an invitation to The Patriot, and all golfers in the Thunderbolt field will be added to the alternate list for The Patriot.
