Event Information
The Patriot All-America Invitational began in 2011 as an opportunity for 84 male PING All-Americans to have a bowl-like experience via an end of year championship among all NCAA divisions: Division 1, 2, and 3, NJCAA, NAIA and AJGA. The championship, played at the Wigwam Resort in Arizona, has gained strength and popularity over the years – so much so, that the field was expanded in 2021 to include 44 top female All-Americans and again in 2022 to include 66. It has consistently been considered a Class A tournament by the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
In 2022, at the request of the golf coaches throughout the country, a satellite event was created to accommodate those players that met the eligibility requirements but could not get into the Patriot before it filled up. Known as The Thunderbolt, it is a 54-hole championship hosted by Sterling Grove Golf and Country Club in Surprise, AZ.
