Police Officer Jason Judd, 52, was seriously injured in a crash on the campus of Liberty High School where the agency was hosting a “Youth Citizen Police Academy Camp” for area teens. The motorcycle accident occurred July 1, 2020, when he was leaving the demonstration.
Officer Judd was transported to a nearby hospital where he subsequently died of his injuries. Later that evening, a long line of motorcycle officers and police SUVs were seen leaving Honor Health Deer Valley in honor of fallen officer Jason Judd. The procession lasted miles and eventually ended in downtown Phoenix where they were met with an American flag at half-staff, and Phoenix police officers on the side of the road paying their respects.
During the funeral service at Christ’s Church of the Valley, his wife and friends remembered him as a stickler for the rules, a fixer, a man with strong family values, and a great sense of humor.
Officer Judd was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had served with the Peoria Police Department for 21 years, and a motorcycle officer for the last 17 years.
Officer Judd is survived by his wife and two children.
