Recorded top-10 finishes in two of four fall events for Tech … Posted the team’s best stroke average (69.67) among those who played in all four events … Finished runner-up by one stroke at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, posting a Tech-record low 54-hole score of 194 (-16) … Tied for 10th at the Windon Memorial Classic (210, -3) … Tied for 14th at the Hamptons Intercollegate (219, +3) and 23rd at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate (213 (-3) … Ranked No. 44 by Golfstat and No. 54 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Index at the end of the fall season.

2021 Amateur Highlights: Tied for 4th place (214, -2) at The Spirit International in Trinity, Texas, where he was the captain for the South African team, which finished fifth in the men’s team competition and eighth in the combined team (men and women) competition … Tied for 16th place at the Monroe Invitational (279, -1) … Finished 17th at the Dogwood Invitational (277, -11).

2020-21: Tournament Results

Tech’s highest-ranked player, No. 78 in the Golfstat rankings and No. 64 in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, made the GCAA All-East Region team … Tops the team in stroke average at 71.57 in 28 rounds, and recorded four top-10 finishes, including a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional (209, -7) … Tied for top team finish at the NCAA Championship (T44) with two rounds of par or better … Also tied for third at the Calusa Cup, tied for sixth at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate and fifth at the Linger Longer Invitational … Tied for 15th at the ACC Championship (211, +1) … No. 138 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, No. 125 in the Scratch Players World Amateur Ranking, and South Africa’s No. 2-ranked amateur … Enrolled at Tech for the fall but had to take all classes virtually from South Africa because COVID prevented his departure to come to Atlanta … Arrived in January too late to participate in team qualifying and missed the Jackets’ first tournament (Camp Creek Invitational), but played in every event after.

High School:  Attended Outeniqua High School, where he competed five years in golf for coach Val Holland, and four years in tennis under coach Albert Warren, playing in the top position … His tennis team won the SWP district championship every year from 2015-19.

Junior/Amateur Golf:  Ranked as high as No. 131 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking … Became the youngest player ever to win the South African Amateur in 2017 … Competed for South Africa in the Junior Presidents Cup in 2017 and 2019 … In 2019, he was the runner-up at the Southern Cape Amateur Open and tied for 19th at the South Africa Stroke Play Championship … Won the South African Match Play Championship in 2017 and reached the round of 16 in 2018 … Also in 2018, tied for eighth at the St. Andrews Links Trophy, became the first-ever international champion of the East of Ireland Amateur, and tied for 11th place at the Junior Players Championship in Jacksonville, Fla.
