FRESHMAN/2021-22
• Named to the 2022 Division 1 PING All-West Region team as well as to the 2022 All-Pac-12 second team and to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
• Started all 12 tournaments as a 2022 freshman and led the team in stroke average (71.70, 16th on USC’s all-time season chart), rounds in the 60s (nine), rounds under par (20) and rounds of par or better (23, tied for ninth on USC’s all-time season chart).
• Posted a team-best three top 10 finishes, six top 18s and seven top 21s and was USC’s top finisher in eight of 11 events.
• Two of his top 10 results came in the postseason. He tied for 6th at the Pac-12 Championships at par 284 (73-68-74-69) and followed that with a tie for 10th at the NCAA Stockton Regional at 7-under 209 (68-71-70). Playing as an individual, he finished one stroke short of a playoff for a berth into the NCAA Championships.
• Also tied for 6th at the Valspar Collegiate with a season-best 9-under 204 (66-68-70).
• Posted rounds of 65 and 63 at the Arizona N.I.T., the latter being USC’s first 63 since Kaito Onishi in November of 2017 and the Trojans’ first 9-under effort since Rico Hoey earlier that year in February, and one off the school record.
• He started in all four of USC’s 2021 fall events, posting three top 18 finishes and four in the top 28. He was Troy’s top finisher in each event and led the Trojans in stroke average at 71.58. Rivera’s best finish was a tie for 13th at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational at 2-over 212 (72-75-65) while his lowest under par was a 5-under 211 (73-68-70) at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, good for a tie for 16th.
HIGH SCHOOL
• Rivera graduated from Torrey Pines High in San Diego where he was a four-time All-American. He rose to the No. 2 ranked junior golfer in California in 2020 and was top-ranked by AJGA
• Rivera qualified for the 2021 U.S. Amateur. He won the 2020 Rancho Santa Margarita Amateur and also posted a pair of top 10 finishes in the 2020 fall, taking second at the 2020 PING Heather Farr Classic and tying for 10th at the Se Ri Pak Desert Junior while also tying for 14th at the Rolex Tournament of Champions. He tied for 10th at the 2019 Jones Cup Junior Invitational.
• In 2018, Rivera represented the U.S. at the biennial The Junior Open Championship on the Eden Course at St. Andrews and played for the West team at the Wyndham Cup. He also posted top 10 finishes at the PING Heather Farr Classic and at the Polo Golf Junior Classic.
