Branch of Service: Army
Rank: Corporal

U.S. Army Corporal Jordan E. Goode, 21, of Kalamazoo, Mich., was assigned to the 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, of Fort Bragg, N.C. He served as a cavalry scout under Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. On August 11, 2007 in Zormat, Afghanistan, CPL Goode was killed when a roadside bomb detonated beneath the truck he was driving.

A graduate from New City High School in Kalamazoo, CPL Goode joined the Army in 2004. He had a zest for life and loved anything that involved risk-taking. Hip-hop music and drawing were also two of his favorite passions. He was a fun-loving man, who could make the most of a bad situation and could light up a room with his smile.

CPL Goode was dedicated to his career. He made it a point to be a unique individual, who spoke his mind. He portrayed a tough exterior but had a heart of gold. He enlisted in the U.S. military in 2005 after he and his future wife, Aubrey, discovered she was pregnant with their daughter, Amirah. To provide for his family, he decided to skip college, which would have taken too long, and join the Army.

CPL Goode is survived by his wife and daughter, both of whom are Folds of Honor scholarship recipients.
