On April 25, 2020, Deputy Sheriff Randy Paddock, 40, of Stillwater, OK, responded to an accident that involved a vehicle that had struck and was trapped under a utility pole. As he began to move the pole, it fell on him. He hit his head on the pavement sustaining a serious injury. Paddock began having seizures from the head trauma. He died on August 28, 2021 – a year and four months after the incident.

Randy Dale Paddock grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and graduated from Stillwater High School. He then enlisted in the Army and served in the 1-502nd Infantry Regiment "First Strike" 2nd Brigade Combat Team 101st Airborne Division until he received a medical discharge. Randy then went into law enforcement and graduated from Tennessee Law Enforcement Training on May 29, 2013. We went to work for Montgomery County, Tennessee, as a deputy sheriff.

Randy’s greatest joy was being a father, but other hobbies included boating, motocross, fishing, working on cars and motorcycles and making other people laugh.

Sheriff Paddock is survived by his wife, Danielle Pritchard, and two sons by a previous marriage, Brysun and Brayden.
