Master Sergeant Brad Clemmons, 37, of Chillicothe, Ohio, was assigned to the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska. He was killed August 21, 2006, when an Improvised Explosive Device struck his vehicle while on route to Taji, Iraq. MSgt Clemmons was an explosive ordinance disposal craftsman in charge of forensic analysis and intelligence collection of IED’s. He and his team were returning from two previous IED missions when his convoy was struck by a third IED.

MSgt Clemmons graduated from Southeastern High School where he was an honor student. He signed up for the Air Force before his 18th birthday. Following his death, MSgt Clemmons was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 2008, the EOD facility at Eielson was dedicated in his memory. In addition to the building dedication, the EOD squadron created a memorial that stands in the new facility, a silent testament to one Airman's ultimate sacrifice.

“He was a great man,” said his wife, Rebecca. “He loved people, he loved kids, he loved this country, and he loved working for the Air Force.” In addition to his wife, MSgt Clemmons is survived by his children Nicholas, Zachary, Isabelle, and Gabrielle, who was born after his passing.
