David Mimm, 54, of Montgomery, AL lost his life in the line of duty while serving as a paramedic with Care Ambulance on March 1, 2020, when a car driven at more than 70 mph ran a red light and hit the ambulance. His patient and two others were injured in the accident.

Mimm previously served his country as a medic in the U. S. Army from 1984 to 1987 in the 1st Infantry Division out of Ft. Riley, Kansas where he did two tours.

David was a paramedic for over 30 years, training and mentoring dozens of young medics. He moved to Montgomery in 1987 and became a licensed paramedic in 1988.

David loved taking trips with the family. He loved fishing, cooking out, company softball meets and coaching little league baseball for both of his boys. He was a die-hard fan of the Miami Hurricanes and Dolphins.
David met his wife Liz at Care Ambulance in 1997 and they were married a year later. He became stepfather to Liz’s teenage daughter, Teresa. They had two children together, David Jr. and Dawson.
