Summer 2017


  • Won the prestigious California State Amateur Championship at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, defeating Noah Norton, 1-up, in a thrilling 36-hole match-play final
  • Finished alone in third place with a collective 2-under 286 at the Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish, Washington
  • Clinched a spot in the 117th U.S. Amateur Championship after winning his sectional qualifier in Kapolei, Hawaii
  • Shot a 36-hole total of 5-under 137 on rounds of 67-70.

2016-17 Season (As A Junior)

  • Garnered PING All-West Region accolades and received All-Mountain West recognition for the first time in his career
  • Led the Aztecs with a 72.11 scoring average, which ranked eighth in the conference
  • Topped the squad with 19 rounds at or below par, including six in the 60s ... Was one of three SDSU golfers to start all 12 tournaments
  • Recorded six top-20 placements, including two in the top five.

Spring:

  • Averaged 72.67 strokes in all 24 of SDSU's rounds
  • Was the Aztecs' No. 1 competitor at the NCAA Washington Regional, where he tied for 22nd at 5-over 218 for his highest postseason placement as a collegian (May 15-17)
  • Also logged his best finish in three starts at the Mountain West Championship with an 11th-place standing at 2-under 214 (April 21-23)
  • Tied for 11th at SDSU's own Lamkin San Diego Classic after shooting a spring-low 3-under 213 (March 13-14)
  • Was the Aztecs' top player at the highly competitive Southern Highlands Collegiate, where he finished alone in 17th at even-par 216 (March 6-7)
  • Opened the spring with a 14th-place tie at the Prestige at PGA West on the strength of an even-par 213 (Feb. 20-22).

Fall:

  • Compiled a 71.00 scoring average in all four starts for the Scarlet and Black
  • Led the Aztecs to a pair of team titles with runner-up individual finishes at both the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate and Saint Mary's Invitational
  • Shot a 4-under 212 at the Tucker, highlighted by an opening-round 69 (Sept. 23-24)
  • Fired a 2-under 211 at historic Poppy Hills Golf Course during the Saint Mary's Invite, featuring consecutive 67s over the final two days (Oct. 24-26)
  • Matched his career-best with a 7-under 64 in the opening round of the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, which is tied for the fourth-lowest 18-hole score in program history
  • Finished at 3-under 210 for the event to tie for 27th (Oct. 10-11)
  • Had all three rounds count toward the Aztecs' score at the season-opening Gopher Invitational, where he tied for 23rd at 6-over 219 (Sept. 10-11).

Summer 2016

  • Captured medalist honors at the 101st edition of the Southwestern Amateur Championship last June at Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
  • Shot below 70 in all four rounds, completing the tournament with a 13-under par 267 (67-66-67-67) on the Geronimo and Cochise Courses
  • Also finished alone in fourth place in the 117th installment of the SCGA Amateur in July after posting a 13-under 275 (71-66-67-71) at Barona Creek Golf Club.

2015-16 Season (As A Sophomore)

  • Made six varsity starts in 11 tournament appearances
  • Compiled a 73.58 scoring average in 33 rounds
  • Ranked fourth on the team with a .833 count percentage
  • Completed seven rounds below par, including three in the 60s
  • Posted three top-20 placements on the year.

Spring:

  • Averaged 73.83 strokes in 27 rounds
  • Earned a starting assignment in five events, including the Mountain West Championship, NCAA Albuquerque Regional and NCAA Championships
  • Tied for 20th at the conference tournament with a 1-under 215, highlighted by an opening-round 69 (April 22-24)
  • Shot a 14-over 230 at the regional meet to tie for the 34th spot along with teammate Nahum Mendoza (May 16-18)
  • Led the Aztecs on day two of the NCAA Championship with a 1-over 71, before finishing with a three-round total of 12-over 222 (May 27-30)
  • Also wound up in the 34th position at the Lamkin San Diego Classic with a 10-over 226 (March 21-22)
  • Helped SDSU to a third-place finish at the Southwestern Jones Invitational after tying for 40th at 9-over 225 (Feb. 29-March 1)
  • Saw action in tournaments as an individual competitor, including the WIU/Carlton Oaks Invitational, where he posted his highest finish as a collegian with a third-place tie at 2-over 218 (Feb. 15-16)
  • Landed in the ninth spot at the Aztecs' own Barona Collegiate Cup, where he shot a season-low 65 in the third round en route to a 3-under 213
  • Bookended the spring schedule with appearances at the USD Farms Collegiate Invitational (Feb. 8-9) and the Western Intercollegiate (April 11-13).

Fall:

  • Completed his lone start of the fall schedule at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational, where he tied for 30th at 3-under 210, highlighted by a 66 in the second round (Oct 12-13)
  • Also tied for 39th as an unattached golfer at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate with an 8-over 224 (Sept. 25-26).

2014-15 Season (As A Freshman)

  • Received the starting nod in 13 of 14 tournaments during his freshman campaign
  • Joined teammate Xander Schauffele as the only two Aztecs to play all 43 rounds this season
  • Ranked fifth on the squad with a 73.21 scoring average
  • Totaled 11 rounds below par, including four in the 60s.

Spring:

  • Competed in all 10 events, averaging 73.16 strokes in 31 rounds
  • Tied for the fifth-lowest 18-hole score in school history after shooting a final-round 64 to help SDSU capture the team title at the Barona Collegiate Cup (Feb. 9-10)
  • Finished with his best three-round total of the year at the aforementioned tournament, landing the sixth position at 8-under 208
  • Fired a season-low 67 during the final round of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational where he landed in the 34th spot at 6-over 216 (April 3-4)
  • Ended in a tie for 24th in his first-ever Mountain West Championship appearance after carding a combined 5-over 218 (May 1-3)
  • Had all three rounds count toward the Aztecs' team score at the NCAA New Haven Regional where he tied for the 22nd position after logging a 2-over-212, highlighted by 69 on the final day of competition (May 14-16)
  • Was the Aztecs' No. 3 finisher at the NCAA Championships, tying for 54th with a collective 12-over 300 (May 29-June 1)
  • Posted SDSU's third-lowest score of the tournament with a 72 in the second round.

Fall:

  • Saw action in all four tournaments, posting a 73.33 scoring average
  • Made a big splash in his Scarlet and Black debut, finishing fifth as an unattached golfer at the season-opening Southwestern Intercollegiate where he shot a 1-over 214 (Sept. 8-9)
  • Cracked the starting lineup in just his second event as an Aztec, tying for 27th with a 7-over 223 at the Husky Invitational (Sept. 22-23).
