Alabama sophomore Cory Whitsett, who shot a tournament-best 64 in Thursday's second round, held off a teammate on the final day to win the inaugural Patriot All-American Invitational at the Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park on Friday.

Litchfield Park, Ariz. – Cory Whitsett closed with a five-under-par 66 to win the inaugural Patriot All-America Invitational on the Gold Course at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz. Whitsett’s three-round total of 14-under 199 was three strokes better than his college roommate at Alabama Bobby Wyatt.

The 2011 Patriot All-America has finalized the field of golfers for its 54-hole collegiate golf tournament that will be played Dec. 28-30 at Wigwam Golf Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz., and Middle Tennessee’s Hunter Green will represent the Blue Raiders. The field will feature 84 collegiate golfers from across the nation, and includes 21 of the world’s top-100 ranked amateurs.
