Soldier Honored: Andrew Carpenter

Lance Cpl. Carpenter died on February 19, 2011 at the age of 27 from gunshot wounds while serving during Operation Enduring Freedom in Helmand province, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to 3^rd Battalion, 8^th Marines, 2^nd Marine Division, and II Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Lejeune, NC.  Lance Cpl. Carpenter’s wife, Crissie Carpenter gave birth to their son, Landon three weeks after her husband’s death.

Crissie has been a Folds of Honor Higher Education Scholarship recipient and their son Landon is also a Folds of Honor scholarship recipient.
