Army Specialist Terrance D. Lee Sr., 25, of Moss Point, Mississippi, was assigned to the 150th Combat Engineer Battalion, 155th Brigade Combat Team, Mississippi Army National Guard, in Lucedale, Mississippi. On June 11, 2005, in Owesat Village, Iraq, Specialist Lee was killed when his armored personnel carrier was hit by an improvised explosive device.

Specialist Lee was a welder and talked often about making the Army a career. He had a great passion of traveling and seeing the world and its people and felt like the military would be a perfect fit. He entered the Navy for a short period and after, he joined the National Guard’s 155th Armor Brigade Combat Team, known as, “Dixie Thunder” in 2003.

His interests included spending time with his wife and watching boxing and football. His wife, Stephanie, states that, “He didn’t meet any strangers.” He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Specialist Lee left behind a wife, two children, with one on the way.
