Private First Class (PFC) Chad Trimble, 29, entered the Army in October 2006 and was assigned to C Troop, 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team in the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 2007. He became interested in joining the Army after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. After completing his basic training, PFC Trimble went to school to become an Infantryman. In 2008, he deployed with his unit to Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism. He died May 28, 2008 near Gardez, Afghanistan from wounds suffered when his convoy encountered an improvised explosive device.

A 1996 graduate of Covina California High School, PFC Trimble played football briefly, but mainly enjoyed his social life. “Our home was where all the kids would come,” said Tim Trimble, Chad’s father.

“He was outgoing and popular.” After graduation, Trimble married his high school sweetheart, Rosanna.

PFC Trimble is survived by his wife and two daughters, one of which is a Folds of Honor Higher Education scholarship recipient.
